Our Story

Evangel Temple also known as The Barataria Pentecostal Church, was started by the San Juan Pentecostal Church now known as The Pentecostal Lighthouse. On October 4, 1964, the cornerstone was laid for the church that has remained at the same location, 113 Tenth Street, Barataria. Bishop

Hasratt Ali was appointed as the pastor of the church on April 17, 1977. The church has undergone many changes over the years and in the midst of it all, God remains faithful in preserving and building His church.

Evangel Temple pioneered the Malick Pentecostal Church, The Bamboo Pentecostal Church, The First Caledonia Outreach and The Gathering Place (Westmoorings). Additionally, Rescue Mission, a non-governmental, faith-based organization was launched on October 10, 1986, out of a need to help recovering substance and alcohol abusers. The in-house rehabilitation programme existed from 1987 to 2008. The HIV and AIDS arm of the ministry was added in 1993 and remains an integral part of the ministry.

Our Mission

Evangel Temple seeks to develop followers and leaders through discipleship, evangelism and activating the gifts and calling, in order to fulfill the Great Commission.
